Things I’m Loving: ‘Tis the Season

I always love when my favorite bloggers post their favorite things from across the blogosphere and Pinterest, so today, please enjoy Volume 1 of “Things I’m Loving.”  The theme is ‘Tis the Season” as nearly everything I’m looking at right now evokes the holiday spirit, whether it’s Halloween or Christmas (yes, I’m already there).

Happy Pinning ya’ll!

CURRENTLY DROOLING OVER:

These Cookies: If you’ve never heard of Sally’s Baking Addiction, then you’re definitely missing out. This recipe sandwiches Pumpkin Marshmallow Peeps in between 2 soft, moist cookies, packed with peanut butter, M&M’s and sprinkles. Enough said.

These Semi-Homemade Sticky Buns: A mere five ingredients are combined to create these flavorful sticky buns. Imagine waking up to the smell of Pumpkin Sticky Buns on a cool, crisp fall Sunday morning. Feel free to share this recipe with husbands, boyfriends, etc. because it’s incredibly easy. I sometimes like to drop not-so-subtle hints to my BF, such as an email with the subject line, “Wow these Would be PERFECT to Serve me for Breakfast in Bed.”

This Sinful Breakfast: Why not take all of the best parts of fall, mix it with bacon and throw on-top of some delicious waffles? That’s exactly what is happening here with these Pumpkin Spice Waffles with Bacon Butternut Syrup. It almost feels too good to be true…but it’s not. You’ll need a waffle iron to cook these up, but I’m sincerely considering buying one JUST to make these.

This Puppy Chow: Another genius creation by Sally. Puppy Chow is one of those things that I absolutely love but always forget to make. Well, this recipe may have just spurred me to make a some Puppy Chow for myself. If you have any Halloween parties, this mix is sure to be a hit!

This Halloween Bark: You didn’t think I’d share a bunch of recipes without incorporating everyone’s favorite Halloween treat did you? This recipe for Candy Corn Pretzel Bark is actually relatively easy, and the end result is a very rich sweet n’ salty treat!

These Turnovers: I cannot think of a better way to use your leftover Halloween candy than to cover it in buttery dough, top with sugar and bake until it’s an ooey-gooey chocolatey delight.

CURRENTLY WASTING MONEY ON: (FAVE PRODUCTS)

Franken Berry and other General Mills Monster Cereals: Why, oh why, did the BF have to get me hooked on these limited edition Monster Cereals. I swear I bought his favorite cereal for him…but I might need to buy a new box, because I seem to be addicted to this cereal and its magical ability to turn your breakfast into strawberry milk. Since they’re only released on Halloween, I think I should go to Target and buy all of the rest of the boxes.

Coffee-Mate Pumpkin Spice Creamer: This creamer transforms my morning coffee from ordinary to extraordinary. Sometimes, it’s the only thing that gets me out of bed at 6 AM. Health nuts don’t be alarmed. As long as you stick to the recommended serving, you’re only adding 35 calories and 1.5 grams of fat.

Dunkin Donuts FREE Pumpkin Iced Coffee: Speaking of morning coffee, there is one exception to my routine, and that is every Monday. I received a coupon for a free iced coffee every Monday through just before Thanksgiving. Talk about something to be thankful for! As soon as I finish this post, I’m headed to Dunkin for my free iced coffee, with skim milk, 1 Splenda and a shot of pumpkin!

Pumpkin Spice Mallows: If I could find these somewhere, I would most definitely be buying them. I saw a recipe for Rice Krispie Treats that used these marshmallows, and I must find them ASAP!

Edy’s Slow Curned Peppermint Wonderland: Yes, it’s too early for Christmas themed food and decorations. However, peppermint ice cream never goes out of style in my book. My new favorite nightly treat includes 1 scoop of this ice cream, topped with whipped cream, a bit of chocolate syrup and some Goldfish.

Strawberry Shortcake Goldfish: Speaking of Goldfish, I spotted these on the shelves, and naturally at the affordable price of 2 bucks, I just couldn’t help myself with another impulse buy. The problem is that I can find no record of them on the Internet. Typically, when a brand releases a new flavor, they’ll at least post out a press release, unless they are doing what PR people call a “soft launch.” Hmmm, Pepperidge Farm, if you need PR help, please contact me.

Oh, and for those with children (or 30-year-old girlfriends with a tendency to gravitate towards fun children’s food), you can now create CUSTOM Goldfish packages for party favors or to celebrate the ones you love.
