It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “Things I’m Loving” post, and though I know you’ve all enjoyed the recent Monday posts about my fascinating breakup, I thought it was time for another post about all of the things I’m lusting over in the Pinterest-sphere.
We’ve reached the point in the winter where all anyone can do is complain about how cold it is outside. However, this year, it’s just bitterly cold. I read one weather report for Omaha that went something like this: Friday – cold, snow; Saturday – much colder, more snow: Sunday – Frigid. Yep, it sure has been one hell of a winter! For those of you in warmer climates, I am absolutely jealous of you right now.
But, for the rest of the country, we could all use a few a little extra warmth in our life right now. Let’s start with these things…
Currently dreaming of warming up with…
These Cake Batter Oreo Cookies. I almost always lead these posts with Sally’s mouthwatering creations. All of her recipes are remarkably delicious and unique, yet very approachable. Doesn’t this picture make you want to curl up by the fire with a tray of these moist, flavorful cookies?
I plan on doing just that at some point in the week, along with Sally’s first cookbook, which was just released on Saturday!
These indoor s’mores. No need to wait for the temperatures to warm up before indulging in our favorite campfire treat. All you need is a cast iron skillet and a stove to make these delightful goodies in the comfort of your warm home.
These mini cinnamon rolls. So quick, easy and semi-homemade, but can you imagine waking up to the smell of warm, fragrant cinnamon rolls on a cold, snowy day? I do believe that there is no better way to wake up!
These Hawaiian Pulled Pork Skillet Nachos. March Madness is fast-approaching, and I know just what to serve up if I have people over to watch some games. All the irresistible flavors of nachos plus pulled pork and a hint of pineapple. Then, it’s topped off with pineapple guacamole. It’ almost too good to be true…
This pepperoni pizza cauliflower casserole. After the success of my Skinny Buffalo Chicken pizza, I’m hopping on the cauliflower bandwagon. This casserole looks so warm, hearty and filling – it’s hard to believe that a vegetable is the start ingredient! I might substitute half n’ half for the heavy cream and use lowfat butter, but other than that, this recipe seems so simple and guaranteed to please!
Currently thinking warm thoughts because of these inspirational words… (I know, I’m such a cheeseball. Better you find out sooner rather than later.)
Definitely feeling these words after the last couple months…
Dr. Seuss will always be the smartest man that ever lived. I can’t help but believe these words to be true…
You cannot go wrong if you think like this…
I’m using these motivational words to help me get out the door to the gym, no matter how cold it is. Remember, if you just get to the gym, you’ll have to do something. One trick I use is setting up my gym outfit next to my bed every night.
And no, I do not run outside in weather this cold. I spent three weeks with the flu this winter, and I’m not goin’ back. But, speaking of running, I’m joining in the Fitfulential Challenge to run 100 miles in March and you should too!
Currently braving the cold to purchase these winter necessities…
This sinfully sweet coffee creamer. International Delight’s Coldstone Hot for Cookie Creamer. I don’t really need to describe it to you. You can imagine how “delightful” it tastes. Isn’t it funny that I get to walk around like an adult with my big cup of coffee…that actually tastes like an ice cream-topped chocolate chip cookie?
These delectable little cookies. When you wake up, and the temperature reads -4 degrees, it may actually be too cold for ice cream. Seems like Chips Ahoy unleashed these cookies just in time. I’ve already tried Mint Chocolate Chip and Root Beer Float, and I don’t know what those crazy cats over at Nabisco are doing these days, but they’re definitely doing something right. First Cookie Dough Oreos and now this.
This genius variation of Cookie Butter from Trader Joe’s. You all know that I fell in love with cookie butter after first trying it a couple weeks ago. What do you do when you’ve created the most delicious spread known to man? You add chocolate to it, and suddenly it’s even better. Maybe this isn’t the healthiest tip, but I suggest ditching the PB and adding this spread to your pre-gym banana…
Currently warming up at the gym with these workouts…
1,2,300 from Fit Fab Cities. Such a basic workout, but by the third round, you’ll definitely be feelin’ it.
This total body workout from PB Fingers. I’m a huge fan of any circuit workout that is total body, because it keeps me interested!
My New Year’s Countdown workout. I create a lot of workouts, but few of them stick with me like this one. I always feel the burn the next day, and it keeps me engaged the entire workout!
Currently avoiding the obligatory winter pounds with these smart healthy living tips…
The best way to avoid empty calories would be to avoid wine, but I love wine, and I’m certainly going to allow myself a few glasses on a cold night out. This chart is something I TRY to keep in mind…
If you’re trying to make excuses about going to the gym, you should probably just read this “Should I Work Out Today Quiz” from Back on Pointe. No more excuses, my friends.
Love this chart that shows which fresh produce is in season. While I know I can get all the nutrients I need from frozen fruit/veggies, it’s still nice to go fresh whenever possible. Strawberries, asparagus and brussels sprouts anyone?
Lastly, there’s nothing I enjoy more than homemade hummus, so I’m loving this chart from Shape with any and every hummus creation combo.
Finally, I’m loving watching Jimmy Fallon as the host of the Tonight Show! Sometimes I watch the YouTube videos of his skits at the gym, and I think people now see me as that weird girl laughing on the stairmill.
Anyway, lately I’ve been watching back his old “Late Night Hashtag” skits where he tweets out a hashtag topic and then reads the funniest tweets live. Considering that I have a mother who always texts with no less than 5 exclamation points and 3 question marks, I couldn’t help but laugh at this one #MomTexts…
And on that funny note, I’m off! Hoping the temperature reaches 0 degrees before I head out…

I know! Isn’t it genius? I swear, I could spend my entire life on Pinterest. What did we do without it?
That Dr. Seuss quote is so sweet! Can’t believe I’ve never heard it before.
I too have been loving my coffee creamer these days. It’ so cold outside that I need my coffee not just to wake me up, but to warm me up! I am boring though – I use the French Vanilla kind. Need to branch out!
Definitely need to branch out on those creamers, girl. Try the Girl Scout flavors. Mmm, so ood.
As for the quote, I love it. It’s definitely going to be hanging somewhere in my house someday!

Oh my gosh! I shouldn’t have found your blog while perusing in bed…I want to get up and get a snack now. A mini cinnamon rolls snack! A cookie butter stuffed French toast snack! So many great pictures. Puts the bowl of cereal I’m going to be eating to shame.
Eeeek, sorry about that! Maybe you can make some of the goodies this weekend 🙂
Oh… My… Those cake batter cookies… How I wish I had a “cheat” meal coming up. Honestly, if I were to have one now I’m sure it would be everything cookie related. Possibly everything you posted about. Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t have one anytime soon!
